Equestrian

Equestrian MiC: Epy Pengelly, Armiger.

Equestrians will show off some new and exciting feats at Holiday Faire! This year, Atlantia joined two Society-wide experimental martial programs: Mounted to Ground Combat and Rossfechten (mounted fencing). Throughout the day, we will demonstrate these mounted fighting programs – and encourage you to join us in developing the systems! You can also catch a Garrocha display (a ridden performance evolved from Spanish bullfighting spear use and cattle herding techniques using a lance), and possibly other unique equestrian activities as well!

Mounted to Ground Combat is unmounted heavy fighters against riders on horseback. You can learn more about the Mounted to Ground Combat program here, and reach out to Doña Zarra de la Vega (Liz Churchill), the Atlantian Program Coordinator with any questions.

Rossfechten is two riders sword-fighting on horseback, sometimes described as “fencing on horseback”. You can learn more about the Rossfechten program here, and reach out to Epy Pengelly, Armiger (Mishee Kearney), the Atlantian Program Coordinator with any questions.

If you are an equestrian looking to demonstrate a unique skill at Holiday Faire, please contact Epy by November 1st to discuss the possibility. Note: there will be no typical equestrian challenge course at Holiday Faire 2025.

Check back for the event schedule as the day gets closer.
