Rapier

We would like to invite everyone to attend a fun-filled day of fighting and shopping at Stierbach’s Holiday Faire! We have a full day of rapier activities that are designed to allow fighters to easily slip in and out as they please. This way, everyone can get as much or as little fighting/shopping as they want. I hope to see all of you there. The following is a schedule and description of the rapier activities planned for the day.

10:00 am – Morning court

Immediately following morning court – Inspections and authorizations

Come get inspected and warm up. I anticipate we will have several authorizations. If you can help to marshal or usher, this would be appreciated.

11:45 am – Meet and Greet Touney

This is a super laid back and fun tournament. Participants will need to sign in with the MoL before they begin fighting. Fighters will then challenge other fighters who they have yet to fight that day. They will then find an open marshal and fight (single pass). The winner will report to the MoL. Rinse and repeat. There are no pairings. There are no eliminations. Just find someone and fight! You can fight as little or as much as you like. At the end, the fighter with the most wins will be the winner. In the case of a tie, the two fighters will face off in a final bout.

1:00 pm – Regressive Forms Progressive Bear Pit Touney

It’s a mouthful, but it should be a lot of fun! This is the traditional bear pit tourney, but with a couple of twists. Fighters will get 1 point for each win. There will be 3 progressive pits. If you win in the first pit, you move to the second. If you win in the second, you move to the third. If you can win 3 consecutive fights in the third pit, you get a point for each of your wins plus 5 bonus points (total of 10 points). However, there is an additional twist. This is also regressive forms. This means that in the first pit, you may use sword and offensive offhand (or any lesser form if desired). In the second pit, fighters may use sword and defensive offhand. In the third pit, all fighters must use single sword. At any time if you lose a fight (or successfully fight all the way through the 3rdpit) you go back to the end of the line and restart in the first pit. The fighter with the most points at the end will win the tournament. Once again fighters are free to fight as much or as little as they choose.

2:30 pm – Never Won a Tourney Tourney

This will be run as an Atlantian speed tourney. It is open to all authorized fighters who have never won a rapier tournament at an event before. This is a single elimination tourney. The last person standing is the winner!

Small prizes will be awarded to the winners. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns. I look forward to seeing everyone there.

YiS,

Hon. Lord Ulfarr Refskegg (RMiC)
